Our Accreditations

Written by experienced food safety experts, SALSA is a robust and effective food safety certification scheme which is appropriate for smaller food producers and processors.

Approved suppliers can demonstrate that they operate to standards that are recognised and accepted across the industry and exceed the minimum standards expected by enforcement authorities.

SALSA approval is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

Organic Farmers & Growers certify over 1400 farmers, who farm more than half of the UK’s organic land, as well as companies ranging from small, independent processors to major multinationals.

Their role is to ensure that the European Organic standards are carried out on organic farms and food businesses across the UK, and to offer support and guidance for businesses who are making the switch to organic.

The Traditional Farm-fresh Turkey Association (TFTA) is a group of independent family-run farms across the UK producing free range turkeys specifically for Christmas to their Golden Turkey Quality Assurance Growing Standard. Established in 2000 following several high-profile outbreaks of foodborne illness, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) is the independent government department working to protect public health and consumers’ wider interests in relation to food in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Their mission is food we can trust.

Their work not only protects people but also reduces the economic burden of foodborne illness and supports the UK economy and trade by ensuring that our food has a strong reputation for safety and authenticity in the UK and abroad.

The RSPCA works hard to try to improve the welfare of as many farm animals as possible, at every stage of their lives. More than 900 million farm animals are reared every year in the UK, as well as many millions of fish. The law alone is not always strong or detailed enough to ensure that they all have a good quality of life, and are transported and slaughtered humanely.
