Free Range Christmas Cockerel (3kg+)

We are long standing Copas clients but this was the first time with a cockerel. Size was good and it was plump. Easy to cook but the breast meat was tough. The legs were tender though. Juicy and moist all over and lots of juice to go into the gravy. It looked just like your picture when we took it out of the oven. I wonder whether the turkey direction of starting to cook upside down might have helped or not.

We didn’t enjoy this as much as last year, the meat was a bit tougher. It is also very expensive for what it is. The giblets made a fabulous gravy though and the timer probe was very useful.

Quite ok, but not as fab as hoped would be - Turkey next year

Second time of ordering from Copas and not disappointed

Last year’s order didn’t arrive on time and the company were very helpful and delivered another in time for Christmas. Excellent customer service.

We have had a Copas Cockerell for at least four years and it is perfect for us. The flavour and quality of the poultry is more than first class and we be ordering one for next Christmas without hesitation.

An excellent tasty alternative for those who want a change from turkey.
